ABOUT
THAWIMPACT is an interdisciplinary project aiming at understanding how climate change forces environmental factors driving permafrost temperatures and dynamics in the Antarctic Peninsula region. It will further assess contaminants in the soils and permafrost and their mobility, as well as the exposure of infrastructure to permafrost degradation. These complex processes acting on terrestrial environments, can only be tackled by an encompassing team such as the one we present. It includes specialists in meteorology, climatology, remote sensing, permafrost and soils, geology, environmental chemistry, biology and modelling.
